“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” Marcel Proust

William North is a fine art photographer residing in Wheaton, Illinois. Photographing classical and historical architectural, he explores the aesthetic elements of a building and their emotional impact rather than functional components. He is particularly drawn to the poetry of cathedral architecture and our response to places of secular and liturgical encounter. A frequent theme of his work is how light and shadow can reveal a new aspect and awaken deeper appreciation for the subject. Believing that beauty awakens the soul and leads to awareness of the divine, his goal is the creation of quiet photographs that evoke thoughtfulness and reflection. One often finds in his work an invitation to contemplate the mystery of the unseen in the seen, the eternal through the temporal.

William is a graduate of Wheaton College and the College of DuPage Photography Program.
